The 6.0 beta looks good. Wish there were a few more themes to choose from, but I'm sure those will come later.

I installed the Windows version, just to check it out, as I'm used to the Linux version on my main computer.

A couple things to note, so far:

1 - When adding media paths, I had to use a UNC path (\\server\path\) in order for my path to be detected, even though I mapped this location as a drive letter in Windows.
2 - The new REST API makes changes to how my registration engine works, so I will have to work with MadEvil to figure out how to adjust my registration engine, or find a way to integrate some form of a registration engine into the final 6.0 release.
3 - Pandora Mode, is now called "Follow Me". (This is just an FYI, I haven't tested it yet to know if it works or not...)

I like :
- the GUI : clean, slick and still intuitive
- Well optimized, transcode works nicely (only audio use)
- i get a few MB free memory

I don't like :
- The New REST Api : i use iOS app Isub a lot and it's not compatible. I don't know if the dev wants to upgrade it.

Thank you Mad, keep going!!!

Working on ubuntu after a day.

*)dynamical scanning
Not noticable yet.

*) Transcoding tests
Better then before, flac transcode a lot quicker.

*) GUI workflow tests
GUi only works on large screen, on my macbook it is not really workable. Something to be looked at.
I think the playlist is a little bit messy, jumps around a lot, pinning is not clear also maybe better to attach the player on top op the playlist.
Sorting icons with in artist view is confusing
*) Performance tests
Less cpu and less memory yeah!
*) Stability tests
Runs solid so far.

Where would you like feedback listed for the 6.0 beta? Seems out of place in a newsletter posting?

Thanks again for the continued development.

I'd like to sign up as a tester.

I would be glad to test out LDAP and SONOS integration, as those are two features I consider a requirement. :)

Let me know how I can get to the 6.0 download, now that the beta site is down.

Hi

After testing the beta 6.0.6740 on ubuntu i can say this.
it looks nice =) sadly it didn't work awesome, after adding sources the service slows down extremely, its basically impossible to change from exempel setting to home.
i'm guessing is a memory problem since it slow doin after adding sources?
i can't make it start playing any of my media and after every reboot i get error 503 (service doesn't exist) ( guessing database problem?)
i did a couple of installs to see if this was a error on the install but i'm getting the same problem on every install i did. (did a complete remove off the old installation)

In a couple off the installations i can't log in again after adding a new password to admin and signing out,
(guessing this is connected to the 503 problem withe the database) If my memory serves me correct i think subsonic had a problem like this on a earlier build.

i have only been able to test this very little since i get this errors, but if you get this working it will be very nice.
i did look for the imdb integration but didn't find it, that would be a very nice touch to have.
And if you could make the user get info and imdb raiting about the movie when you click on it (like in Kodie) it would be awesome.

Server its testet on is a supermicro server ,16 core opteron using 64gig of ram running ubuntu.

/Regards

Are you using the .Deb installation. would be really nice to get this info (so I can try it again) did you increase the memory in masonic? /Regards

Have tried 2 new installations on ubuntu 64 and 32.
gett the same problem, i forgot to mention that the top menu disappears and takes many minutes to return?
se images. can the slow down have something to do with the premium license server is down? (that madsonic is trying to contact it before showing the menus?)
