Some points i have noticed :

- Wininstaller contains java7 instead of java8

- there is an issue displaying the player_queue, guess this is a style prob ? using Madsonic_halotron as usual
either the player is displayed as an entrie bright unreadable block
player_queue.PNG
or there are some unreadable lines ( modulo ,2 )
player_queue2.PNG
the same problem at the folowing styles / themes :
  • High contrast (inverted)
    High-Tech [looks very strage]
    Sonic Blue
    MadSonic (Slick)
    MadSonic (Sonic)
    MadSonic (Simplify)
    MadSonic (2min vor mitternacht)
    MadSonic (Cool n Clean)
    MadSonic (Substandard)
    Madsonic (Kids)
    MadSonic (Pink)
    Madsonic (Black)
    Madsonic (barents sea)
    Madsonic (holotron)
    MadSonic (Red Xmass)
-
  • setup my own admin user : OK
entered "eval" prium kex : OK
altered madsonics host URL for the sharer : OK
wanted to share >> "you do not have a subsonic url" bla bla
although the url is stored and displayes ok if browsing "settings > shared media"
share.PNG
- Last.fm still thinks madsonic is subsonic .... "Scrobbelt gerade von Subsonic"

- It is not possible to change the player like in v5

- accessing v6 via proxypass creates an player with name "php" , no chance to alter ...

- i added my test user 'mstest' with my admin unser 'DoCC'
>> The username pulled via restAPI ist the username of the admin who added this user. o.0
>> deleting the player of the new user, log out - log in, even switching to an other browser does not make any difference.
>> Here again , the mystic php player is suddenly activated.
>> In addition. mstest is not able to get this player listed in his own settings.

WTF ? : )
Image
## restarting the WINDOWS service the player is named correctly ##
## this must be a windows featured bug : ) - no such behavior with linux ##

- the time for tracks being displayed on the right side is to long with 180 min.
It would make more sense if the currently played track would be displayed from 0 - 180 min, and if there is nothing played, the xml gets cleared after mmmh 10 min ..

#####

To be continued the system is scanning files ^^

many parts not updated like the themes (Madsonic Back in Black) is ok

domain sharing is at the moment offline, will come later.

Installer must be upgraded to Java 8.

Also slight problems with the new drag & drop feature in playlist & playqueue.

there are a new setting in general settings, HomeSharing to do so like with Madsonic 5.x

best regards

- Navigationbar > Editor ( playlists )
needs revision, the css is wrong

###

- like mentioned in http://forum.madsonic.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1324
the random tiles are not preset from the listing on the left panel side.
should be no big deal , i bet

i was checking this version out on DoCC's kindly provided link. assuming his install is flawless on his end at this point. i encountered many 'org.springframework.dao.TransientDataAccessResourceException' errors while browsing to the the menus. i had sth. like that the last time i upgraded to 5.2.5420. only solution was a complete new install, recreating anything from scratch to get rid of it. i hope that won't be necessary for the next update!?
it becomes tiresome to recreate settings, users etc all the time - the re-scan of the library is the smallest annoyance. i realize it's the alpha version and obviously nothing is running all great from start....
i am happy to provide a list - if needed - about my encountered errors etc. didn't really kept track of it right now, but if it helps - i will go to it again and keep track.
unfortunately don't have a sandbox machine at the moment to install it myself and see what happen, so can only report about my experience on DoCC's server :(

cheers, L

aah god_damn hsqldb ....
my test server runs on windows ...
my windows box is connected to a domain
the domain is pushing updated via WSUS
WSUS forced a install of security updated and a reboot ...

database crashed.
it really gets time for a change to mysql
