Combined characters in search string yield no results

Unread post by emelin »

If I use a utf8-string for searching, search results show up as expected. However, if this strings contains combined characters (mostly with Greek accents like (ύ, ά, ί, etc.) there are no search results. Weird enough, if I copy such a string (let's say the name Παύλος) from the madsonic web-interface and paste it to the search field, results show up correctly. But when I past the same same copied string in any text editor (showing me a correct utf8 string with combined character exactly as they are used by the the file-system) and then copy this stirng again to paste it in the search field of madsonic, again, no search results come forth. This happens on a mac with madsonic 20130725_madsonic-5.0.3572.beta4XE-standalone. Yet, the same problem occurs when using subsonic on an iphone or ipad.
Is this a known issue?
What can I do about it?

Thanks a lot in advance,
emelin
