FYI,
For those looking for HTML5 audio so they can use the web UI on android, I just discovered that the flash player works in Firefox for android. HTML5 would be nice and I hope it happens soon, but the main reason I was looking for it was to use the web UI on my tablet and Firefox let's me do that, so I'm happy.

I'm on 5.1 beta and was hoping that HTML 5 audio would work with iPhone/iPads (so I can occasionally send a friend a Share link via text for them to quickly listen to something).

Is there something else I need to do? I did see the option to set the video player from chromecast to HTML5, but I don't see an option for audio.

Thanks for all your hard work!

Hi there,

As today, development for the Madsonic branch 5.1 is finished, but the
audio/video upgrade is postponed to the next major Madsonic 6.0 upgrade.

These changes are too large and complicated and would shift the distribution to later.

The plan is with Madsonic 6.0 to start architecture development from scratch, this will include
also better support for the Apple ecosystem. Also a dedicated version for Iphone/Ipad is planned.

stay tuned :D

best regards

It seems so complicate, I saw on Youtube that Bigasoft Total Video Converter can do it with only three steps, do you think this is true?

Fenny wrote:Well, I did a good chunk of the work on the initial html5ing for video. The issue with making the site use html5 for audio is the way that playlists are generated. However, because of the way I set up the external player, (madevil's code is all but identical), if you share the music that you would like to listen to and then open the share link in the iOS browser it will play in html5. This shows that the player will play the music. The issue is with the way that the javascript loads files into the playlist. With html5 it wants the playlist loaded before the player will play. I would have to rewrite a whole bunch of scripting to make the player load, and play in html5, particularly on the fly.
What would it take to get this done? I'd be interested in moving all audio playback into the HTML 5 space. How can I help?

in terms of music, I see no personal reason to use html5 for it as there is no direct load using music files in Flash.

hope this helps you / Chali
Okay your myopic personal opinion aside, html5 is not a dying technology. The latest Chrome updates have broken the Flash player on my server.

It's time to move off of Flash. How do we do this? I'm willing to help or donate $$ for Devs to take a look.

Brorsoft Video Converter is the most professional and economic choice.

^ This. Still no details on ditching flash with the new 6.0 beta.

Got told here in the sneak peak that it was in the todo list. But as far as I can see its not.
