Hello,

I think when I scan my media folder, I see this error in log:
[07/04/16 21:03] WARN FileUtil Failed to list children for /media/Musics/Album/U2/[2014] Songs of Innocence/2-01 - Lucifers Hands.mp3

I suppose there is an error in utf8 because no correct letter

Hi there,

got the same problem like MotorSport.
I have a standalone installation of Madsonic version 6 on my Qnap Nas 451+.
I have messed around alot with the locale command and can set de_DE.UTF-8 on bootup of the Nas automaticly but even if i rescan my library the problem is the same.

All German "umlaute" special Characters like üäö and some other characters are displayed as some ? symbol and madsonic refuse to play the songs.

Any Help ist welcome :)

best regards
Stefan

Plus 1 here.

I use madsonic 6.1 on Raspberrpi 2 with java version "1.8.0_73"
I have seen this kind of behavior before with other software (Ices player foor Icecast). I solved it by changing the ID3 tags to ASCII even if it contains unicode.

But I really would like a solution on the software side.

Henk

I'm having the same problem. Although it's hard to tell the difference between this being a problem with the filename or with the ID3 tags because they're the same in my case. Either way, the files show up in the browser but I'm unable to do anything with them (play, edit, etc). Hoping for a solution to this soon. Running the latest Madsonic on my QNAP TS-251.
