Correct way to update Qnap plugin?

Hi all,

I'm in the process of evaluating MadSonic. I'm really impressed and am on the verge of going premium.

I had been running 6.1 on my Qnap TS-451 and thought I'd check out the 6.2 beta before taking the plunge. 6.2 installed fine via the Qnap package, but it completely wiped all my 6.1 setting. I had to setup as if it were a fresh install. No big deal as I was only evaluating anyway.

So my question, for future reference, is how to best update on the Qnap platform without losing all data?

many thanks...

Hi there,

reliably update process unchanged since Madsonic 6.0:
  • stop Madsonic service, deamon, plugin, addon or script
  • make optional full backup
  • replace madsonic-booter.jar
  • replace madsonic.war
  • restart Madsonic service
use WinSCP or other tools for easy file transfer to your QNAP

Madsonic QNAP install path:

Code: Select all

/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/QMadsonic
read more on the installation help page http://beta.madsonic.org/pages/installation.jsp

best regards
