OSX HD sleep issue

Hi,
I use Madsonic only for music, it has been installed on a Mac Mini (10.9.5). All the music library is on a big external usb disk, the computer itself is set to never enter into sleep mode, but only the external disk after a few minutes of inactivity. It works well unless I play a song, after that, something related to Madsonic prevents the external hardisk to stop. Unfortunately I can't see anything related in the logs console.
Any suggestion?
