I have used MP3 Tag before but they stopped supporting it for Windows 7 and higher, so I started using Tagscanner which I think is much better

Hi There,

All these tools are fine but what I don't find is a tool that let me import xml data into a mp3 or the database.

Not all files have a expanded metadastructure like mp3
Normal wav's for example.

There are very expensive DAM 's like Dalet which use a structure like create a title in a database and in this database we can have all sorts of metadata.

Other library music publishers use a xml scheme

It would be neat to be able to batch import a xml scheme into a mp3.

It would be neat to be able to batch import the same xml scheme into the database used by madsonic.

Kind Regards
Guy Forssman

What I can't find is a Linux Server based tagger. I run a lot of command line server VM's, and most of the music is not on Windows Shares, so taggers in Windows Desktops don't work. I am looking for something that possibly has a WebGUI to sort through items that need confirmation, but will run in the background, sorting, tagging, and renaming.

I guess it can match the track time, title, artist, and if any don't match, you must confirm in a webgui (Something like this)

Anything exist? For RedHat/Centos?

I primarily run SME 8.0 (contribs.org)

http://beets.radbox.org/ ... would be nice to have this incorporated inside madsonic.

I learned to use Beets, that I setted up on my NAS server to scan my music download folder and tag, rename and move my files accordingly to my wished data structure. My music is now perfectly sorted, tagged and named like never before.

Madsonic will scan daily my library but I will manually update if I wish to listen to a newly added album right away.

Since Beets a a command line only tool, if the autotag ships the file because it is not recognised properly, I will SSH to my server to reply to the tagger request.

Looked for a long time for the perfect setup and I got it now with Beets and Madsonic.

f2k is the swiss army knife.
In combination with the DiscoGS tagger, its almost unbeatable.
(mp3tag is praised in the f2k forums, but I don't like switching my musicplayer just for tagging the files)
